Crescent Youth was initiated as a response to the lack of youth involvement and the concern that existed among community members, who once walked these same footsteps. Realizing that the youth were slipping away before their very eyes they took a call to action with the intent not only to revive the spirits but to stir the youth into involvement, not tomorrow but today. With this dream in mind, in August 2003, they came to be, where their events slowly spread from one mosque to another, to one day to expand throughout all of Houston.
