Part 2 of 5: Three Parts to a Website |
There are three components to any website on the internet today: the domain name (http://www.yourname.com), hosting, and the website design itself. Each of these components are mandatory parts of any website and each function together to serve their intended purpose.
We’ve always compared the functionality of a website to a new home. In the home just as a website there are three integral parts: the street address, a piece of land, and the house. In order for someone to visit your house you must have a street address. You must also have a piece of land for the street address to be assigned to and of course: the house.
In order for someone to arrive at your website you must have a domain name analagous to your street address. The lot of land would be the server which your website is to be hosted on and the dazzling house would be your website.
With more than 6 years of design experience, Gotya.net understands this and all other web design principles. Through our easy to understand “geek-speak” you’ll know exactly what’s going on at all stages when we work on your design. |
